School Street Pond is a larger and more detailed painting of a miniature original with the same name. What a great challenge (and growth opportunity) it would be for me to paint a pond like this every day for a year. It's amazing when I slow down and rest my eyes (and soul) on a spot how much more I notice. This painting was part of my spring painting journey; a season I had rarely painted before. As I get older, spring strikes a chord of hope in me in a more and more significant manner. I loved painting the bare trees knowing that in a matter of days their buds would burst into little leaves and soon the sounds of summer would fill the air.
