Down to Earth was printed from a pastel painting of a hillside dotted with farms and houses in the Hudson River Valley, NY. I went to art school in the southwest of England and spent much of my time painting in Devon. There's something about the Hudson River Valley that reminds me of Devon. The landscape dips and dives in swells of green hills and pastures. Sheep dotted on that kind of hill are totally different from the sheep around my here in the Pioneer Valley. Both landscapes are beautiful and I feel I will need to paint everyday in order to capture in paint all the places that inspire me between these two valleys.
