Despite some challenges, I made it out for painting en plein air this spring. The Pioneer Valley is beautiful any time of year, but spring and fall are my favorite seasons for painting outdoors. I set up early morning for this pastel painting of a local home surrounded by lilacs. The spring birds were singing, the cool breeze was blowing, and I was in my element. I love when people stop by to see what I'm painting. It's an opportunity to make new friends and to let people into the steps of soft pastel painting. It's a win win.
