I painted this pastel standing under the canopy of a maple tree and five feet away from our bird feeder. I love painting outdoors and have recently added painting birds and other wildlife live to my repertoire. It is such a joy to do and great for my growth as an artist. I choose colors and make my marks with greater spontaneity and with less analysis. The results produce fresher, more living, paintings.
