Nightfall was painted en plein air behind the church on Rte. 47 in Hadley. It was a lovely day and I set up my pastels and little folding chair near waters edge looking out onto Mt. Warner Lake.

I have lived for almost 35 years in the Pioneer Valley and about half of those years have been in Hadley. I love Hadley. I think it's beautiful and I know Mt. Warner area intimately. I am so grateful that it is protected.

Nightfall focuses on the reflections in the water. It measures 5" x 5" and comes framed. There is a sense of wonder, joy, and peace in this miniature painting because that is exactly how I was feeling when I painted it.
