SOLD - Protected is a soft pastel painting of a large swath of land just off of Rt. 63 in Leverett. It is not my phone that distracts me on my ride to work in the morning but vistas like this one. The meandering water, diversity of trees, mountains in the background, and ever-changing colors is a feast for my eyes every day.

I took a series of photos this autumn trying to capture the spirit of the place so I could translate it into a painting. There are more to come.
