This card is printed from an original pastel painting titled 'Sacred Calm'. I took the photograph I used as a reference for this painting at the levee in Hadley. It was dusk and the clouds and their reflections in the water were turning purple. My meditation while painting this image was on the sense I had while watching the colors turn and the river flow. I felt peaceful and connected the sacredness of life. Rivers do that.
