West Pond Blue is a pastel painting of a view I cherish on my way to and from work. The colors change as do the visitors. I have seen Great Blue and Green Herons, Kingfishers, Hooded Mergansers, Wood Ducks, and Painted Turtles. It has become one of my favorite spots to paint. It is just off the road but once I take the short wooded path to the rock outcrop where I set up my easel, the outside world softens and fades.
