Tracks is a soft pastel painting done on location down the road from our house in Montague, MA part way around the loop we love to walk.  All the textures and colors were peacefully resonating that day in a late summer kind of way. The land is now owned by a friend of mine but it, as well as hundreds of other acres, were originally purchased by his dad. It's beaucolic to say the least. A parcel near this one was used as a movie set last summer with well-known actors. The director was smart to choose this place.

The wonderful thing about the land is that it is APR protected which means it can be farmed but never built upon. Much of the land is left as natural habitat which is why the backyard viewing of wildlife is so rich here.
