West Pond is a view I look forward to on my way to and from work. The colors are always changing as are the visitors to the pond. I've seen Great Blue and Green Herons, Wood Ducks, Hooded Mergansers, Kingfishers, and Painted Turtles to name a few. The path I take to set up for painting en plein air is a short jaunt through the woods. It leads me to a little clearing with a perfect view. It is so tranquil that I barely notice the passing of time as my pastels mimic the colors and textures of what I see.
