Into the Wind was printed from a watercolor of a mother Arctic Tern and her chick. The chick is spreading it's tiny wings and one can only speculate as to what the little bird is thinking. He/she looks fearless to me in this depiction. My husband and I travel to many coastal places and I am in love with countless birds. The first time we travelled to Prince Edward Island we had a cottage on top of a cliff over-looking the water. The terns and gannets were numerous there and I spent countless hours with my field glasses on. I know eeking out a life as a coastal bird is tireless but I swear there were times that they were just flying for the fun of it!
