Safe Harbor is an orginal pastel painting of a peaceful moment I had while visiting Essex, CT. Essex is the last stop on the Connecticut River before it flows into the Long Island Sound, my favorite body of water. Essex is a quaint liittle riverside village steeped in history. I was there at the end of my first journey along the Connecticut Coast doing cold calls for my fledling art business. I loved meeting business owners in these beautiful waterside towns and villages. I came away from the trip with new friends, a couple of wholesale accounts, and images that I looked forward to one day painting. 

My focus in painting this was on peace; internal and external. Manifesting images of peace has become my focus during this pandemic. It seems to be what I need most and hopefully, what my viewers will also feel inspired by.
