North Taylor Hill cards are printed from an original pastel painting of one of my favorite barns in our neighborhood. The barn sits on top of the hill next to a house with one of the largest screen porches I've ever seen. From the barn and the porch a vast expanse of land spills down to Falls Road and offers a most beucolic view. I can see a tiny portion of this barn from my living room window but I see it in all it's architectural glory on my morning run.  I try to imagine all of the people, animals, work, and conversations that have filled barns like this one over the years. I'm not sure why, but I find their presence comforting and a joy to paint.
