A Grateful Heart

Success of the 2nd Annual Art Sale at Milk Barn Studio

Thank you to everyone who supported my second Art Sale and Garden Tour. Whether it was helping me set up, run the event, attend, purchase art, clean up at the end of the day or wish me well, I am deeply touched by the love and support of my community.

As I reflect on the day, many joyful moments are revisited including the one pictured here. When long time supporters Steve and Kathryn arrived, I saw the hat and said to Kathryn "I have that same hat!" This was my first time meeting Kathryn in person. I felt like I already knew Kathryn because her husband had commissioned me for a painting of her and her dear friend years ago. I knew exactly where my matching hat was in the big dairy barn and ran to fetch it. Steve snapped this picture moments later.

Dear friends drove in from near and far while new friends came because they saw the announcement in the Montague Reporter or were riding by on bicyles. Neighbors supported in a variety of ways. Thank you! And though Glen said "I do!" ten years ago, I'm not sure he was fully aware of how long the "honey-do" list would be! My 'editor in chief' and big sister Claudia consulted across the miles. And of course, my three 'daughters' were there. I experienced the pure joy of a child as I ran up and down our ramp with Val's daughter Alice, ringing chimes and laughing with delight.

Children adorned our driveway with sidewalk chalk. I still have images of peach trees ripe with fruit, rainbows, and magical creatures. Magic was in the air for sure last Saturday and love was the key ingredient. My next event will be in December. Stay tuned!
